Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support- Autism Spectrum Conditions

Complete Communication Ltd provides academic support to students in receipt of Disabled Student Allowance (DSA). We are passionate about providing high-quality support workers who can help to make a difference to our students studying higher education courses throughout the UK. 


With recent and continued expansion, we are looking to expand the wealth of knowledge that we have with highly qualified and experienced specialist support staff. The role that we are currently looking for is a Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support- Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).


Your Role 

Your role will help to enable students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to develop skills and independent learning. The support provided will be tailored to each student’s individual needs outlining clear timescales and objectives for achieving their goals.


Within your role you will be providing one to one academic and social support to students with an ASD which will enable them to overcome barriers to learning and allow them to progress within the higher education setting. By guiding and advising your students throughout their academic journey you will help them to develop a variety of both academic skills and transferable/interpersonal skills. 


Your Skills 

All candidates will have in-depth knowledge in supporting an individual with a particular disability whilst also being able to draw from experience.


An understanding of the demands associated with higher education study will be demonstrated. Relationships inside and outside of the institution will be maintained in order to establish a close working relationship with other support services the student maybe using, as well as allowing recognition for when and if there is a need to refer to other services. 


Your Qualifications/training 

· Any degree AND a teaching qualification AND Comprehensive training in adult autism.

· A relevant degree AND a teaching qualification

Additional Information: 

The working hours vary according to the needs of the student and their academic timetable. All support workers are paid on a self-employed basis whereby they are responsible for paying their own NI contributions and tax.
