Sharon Saunders, Deaf Access and Inclusion Worker

“I have worked with Daryl within a variety of settings, including education setting for nearly five years. Daryl always delivered professional and highly skilled BSL/English interpretation. He has also consistently provided high quality spoken English to match both my professional standing and to match the needs of the clients I work with (I have been told this by hearing clients and colleagues).

Daryl is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and provides quality that matches my needs every time. Daryl goes out of his way to ensure I'm able to engage with professionals and clients. He is friendly too which is a bonus. Nothing is too much trouble for him. I always rebook him when he is available, and I would highly recommend him."

Lynn Elson, Community project lead, trustee, Plymouth Deaf Association

"I have worked with Daryl as part of our team and as BSL/English interpreter over 1 and half years and have consistently found him to be an important resource for expanding our Deaf Community Project at Plymouth Deaf Association with talented people. He is tenacious and hard working to ensure our work is completed promptly and with a successful conclusion. Daryl is also a good communicator and keeps our team informed of the progress and he is always appreciated and praised for his work."

He has outstanding BSL skills and extensive experience of working with a variety of education professionals. Very professional, prompt with feedback and sensitive to the needs of the client & setting.

I have no hesitation in recommending Daryl's interpreting for any situation. His first hand knowledge of the D/deaf world ensures sensitivity & professionalism at all times. He goes the 'extra mile' for clients. We would always seek to book him if he is available"

“Without a doubt YOU (Daryl) are a major reason why last night went so well! I can't thank you enough - you put us all, me included, at our ease, and your management of the rehearsal (in easy bites) was perfect. I learned so much as well, above and beyond the signing of the poem. I have already had feedback for choir members eager to sign your praises...... "

In this time I have not only seen the development of Daryl's signing ability to become a competent signer within the higher education sector but also been impressed with his professionalism and ability to ensure that the needs of the student and the course are being met.

Daryl has shown his ability to translation lectures and course material from English - BSL and vice versa from BSL - English to a high standard. Furthermore, I am confident that Daryl is able to translate both the content and the personality of both Deaf and hearing people when translating or interpreting meetings and lectures.
